Ron Paul Wins CPAC!

At the recent CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference)  2011, Ron Paul won the straw poll with 30% of the vote.

Although there were over 10,000 in attendance, only 3,742 participated in the poll.  This is still a pretty good sample size, and shows a very good percentage of Ron Paul supporters.

Donald Trump, as a guest speaker, not a potential candidate yet, threw Ron Paul under the bus! Saying He can’t get elected, although he did say that he likes the man, and respects him. Gee, thanks Donnie… At this point it is pretty clear that the Donald plans on running, but he can not announce until the end of his TV show in June. What won’t this guy do for attention? He actually points out many real issues, but the feeling here is that he will run as an independent, and then sell off his endorsement to a candidate that has a real shot. Which hopefully will be Ron Paul!

Here is the breakdown of the votes for the nominee hopefuls:
Ron Paul: 30%, Mitt Romney: 23%, Gary Johnson: 6%, Chris Christie: 6%, Newt Gingrich: 5%, Tim Pawlenty: 4%, Michele Bachmann: 4%, Mitch Daniels: 4%, Sarah Palin: 3%, Herman Cain: 2%, Mike Huckabee: 2%, Rick Santorum: 2%, John Thune: 2%, Jon Huntsman: 2%, Haley Barbour: 1%, Other: 5%, Undecided: 1%

To this blogger, the one big surprise in the list here is Chris Christie. I guess he has bigger things in mind already than remaining Governor of NJ, even though his seat in Trenton is barely warm. My personal feeling on this is that he has no chance of getting re-elected in NJ, so he might as well try and get a better job. This is just purely opinion, but as a resident of NJ, I have not heard so many people put down the Governor since Florio was in. I still recall the FLUSH FLORIO bumper stickers. It’s not that I think he is doing a bad job. This state needs drastic change, much like this country. It’s just that he has made many cuts that have REALLY ticked people off. Mostly State and local Municipal workers, Teachers, and various unions.

Back to the results, and Ron Paul! Many believe Ron Paul will not get the endorsement from the Republicans. I believe this poll shows that he may be able to this time around! That is what I hope for, that he gets the Republican Nomination, and runs as a Republican and not an independent. Sadly, it seems like no independent can ever win an election in this country. I think this is just due to the sheeple in this country not taking time to learn about the candidates themselves. They just vote R or D, depending on in many cases, what their parents voted! “Well my Grandfather was a Republican, and my Father was a Republican, I can’t sit at the table at Christmas dinner and say I voted for somebody else”.  If you fit this mold, shame on you! Vote your conscience, but learn the facts. Find out what the candidates stand for. Hey, we all know the things they say during campaigning don’t mean anything once elected in many cases! But look at their track record, and look at if they always stood by their beliefs no matter how it effected things. RON PAUL is that type of person. He tells it like it is. He stands his ground. He defends the constitution and our civil liberties, first and foremost. He stands for this country first, as it should be.

We need to change our foreign policies.
We need to have our country guided by the constituion.
We need a true Statesman, not politicians.
We need someone in charge who is not selling out to one side or another, but will but stand up against, OR support EITHER side, for the better good.

We don’t need someone in office who is supporting the Democrats or the Republicans. We don’t need someone in office who is supporting corporations. We don’t need someone in office who is supporting other countries.

We need someone who is supporting the PEOPLE of this COUNTRY!
